“I can say — not as a patriotic bromide, but with the full knowledge of the necessary metaphysical, epistemological, ethical, political and esthetic roots — that the United States of America is the greatest, the noblest and, in its original founding principles, the only moral country in the history of the world.”

SlaterRadiers, welcome to our new blog! This is where we all can get together and muse on the going-ons of Jackson and the Volunteer State when it’s not between 6-9 in the morning.
A Quick Interview with the Speaker of The District:
If you could have anything in the world:
The ball George Bush threw out in Game 3 of the 2001 World Series in Yankee Stadium.
What are your political views:
I’m a registered Independent because the Republican Party means absolutely nothing anymore. I speak for myself, not for any party (John McCain a conservative? Feel disenfranchised much?). If I had to label myself, I’m a free market capitalist, socially moderate, American Exceptionalist. Chew on that for a while.
People you’d like to meet: Kendra and the smart one. I’m joking. Kind of.
Greatest American:
George Washington for handing over power when he could have been king. Abraham Lincoln for doing what was necessary to keep the Union together. The people who settled West for embodying the American spirit. Martin Luther King, Jr for articulating what so many could not express. Milton Friedman for having so much patience when debating with idiots.
If you could interview one person, who would it be:
Ty Pennington and the crew from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Also Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman.
Favorite Things:

Mikey, I’m glad to see the caller variety, since your expansion into new lands. Heck, even Tanner thought it prudent to finally get himself on the air. At least now his immediate constituency knows whereof he speaks. He’s a typical Liberal, and doesn’t have a clue that he is supposed to be representing his voters, instead he wants us to accept what he thinks is best for us. As if somehow once he got to D.C. he swallowed some special enlightenment beverage suddenly making him something special. What happens to all those people we send up there, even Corker went sideways on us?
I’ve sworn off the two party system and when I can I even financially support conservatives (no matter what their affiliation) in the Club for Growth. A lot of those guys are the ones you are hearing about (Pence, Flake, Shadegg, Garrett, Hensarling) in congress. They are standing for what they believe and ran on those principles, unlike the infamous Thune, whom I thought would be a staunch conservative ally.
Your show is doing great and I expect better things for you. I don’t know how you can keep it real…….I couldn’t. When a caller would tell me Americans use too much energy, I’d have to let loose.
This is a great nation: we’re fighting a “war” (undeclared), financing the fight on worldwide aids, creating gadgets, tools and equipment to make everyone’s life easier and better, and we are still exploring outerspace.
Keep it up, Mike. And keep it together. Keep both feet on the ground, and find that humble place where you can always go to when ego rears its head.

Dateline pre the birth of Mike Slater, heck your parents probably haven’t even met.
In the early 70s, Chrysler was looking to the government for a bail-out: it was going bankrupt. The bail-out was granted because it was thought “as goes the Big 3, so goes America”. But there was at least one caveat; Chrysler had to scrap all the work it was doing on the turbine engine. Up to this point Chrysler had a working prototype, getting 20 miles to the gallon. It had 9 moveable parts and was a flex fuel engine. And the rest is history. With newer material and the added electronics, there is no telling what the Chrysler Automobile would have looked like or what it would have done to change the face of America and the world. UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES. Chysler repaid the debt in 3 years and books were written by and about the legendary Lee Iacoca. But we all lost the advantages of that lost technology. I don’t believe Chysler should have been bailed-out but that turbine engine would have been in some other vehicle today if we would have let the free market have its way. Instead we are arguing about drilling or not drilling for oil.
Also during the 70’s, our government decided to “level the playing field”. There were only perhaps 2 companies that actually refined oil into gasoline, so everyone selling gasoline had to buy it from these refineries, and that gave us the gas wars because Mobile (one of the refineries) could actually sell it cheaper at the pump than anyone who bought it from them to resell at their pumps. It was great; you could get 2 or 3 gallons for a dollar, get your windows washed, get your oil checked, and air put in your tires, just to buy gasoline at a specific station. But the government, through lobbyists, decided to enter into an agreement to “stabalize” gas prices and made legislation that ordered refineries to sell their end product for the same price, because we didn’t want anymore refineries to be built. The government actually made competition impossible, and through the subsequent years, oil companies merged and the refinery problem would have resolved itself, but we now have a situation where the government is once again dictating what kind of cars we should be making, how much mileage they should get and what kind of fuel to use…ergo food for fuel.
This is the greatest country in the world dispite the government intervention. We have given the world technology, medicines and other advancements that have made life easier, healthier and better, but we could have done so much more and still can if we would elect governmental officials who do not want to micro-manage our industries. We would have had cleaner air, had the government stayed out of the way. We would have had flex fuel vehicles a long time ago, food prices would not be affected by the manufacturing of automobiles, and we could still get our windows washed by the station attendant. When a company has to invest its resources to meet governmental standards, it restricts those companies from doing other research. Dictating CAFE standards has given us plastic death traps, moving at 50 miles an hour. The unintended consequence is that some 40,000 people die in automobile accidents each year. Who knows what advancements the automobile would have made if that money could have been spent elsewhere, and how many more lives could have been saved.

Mike,
I was hoping that you can clarifiy the plans presented by current and previous candidates for president for me. I am currently 30 yrs old and have noticed in every presidential election that I have voted in (all of those that I was of age for); that the candidates refer to a 10-year plan.
If a term is 4 yrs and a president can only serve 2 terms; where does this 10-year plan come from? Why hasn’t this become an issue in the past? Why aren’t we as voters doing more to stand up to having these candidates level with us about what they will “really” do while in office rather than having a scapegoat to say that they didn’t accomplish everything they claimed they would because they only served for 8-years of their 10-year plan? Where is the accountability?
At most, I think they should give an 8-year plan with a goal for where our economy among other issues will stand at the 50% mark (or 4-year mark). Wouldn’t this allow the voter to understand the candidates goals for their term and give us an idea of how close they came to meeting these various goals when it comes time for reelection?
I was curious as to your spin on this issue.
I would be curious what response the candidates would have to the following question:
If you were only elected for a 1-year term; what would your top 5 priorities be while in office and what do you feel you can accomplish during that year?
Thanks,
Dave (Huntingdon)

Congress doesn’t work the way we do, they look 10 years ahead to form their budget, and many other activities. A tax may be “on the books” without actually being collected, because it is in the 10 year plan
November 6, 2008 at 2:53 pm
You had a caller this morning that made the comment that we should put huge tariffs on goods produced abroad by American companies, then sold in our market. This is an absurd delusion.
Most American companies doing business overseas (especially in Asia) are engaged in business as a joint venture with an existing company from that region. There are legitimate business reasons for manufacturing in local economies besides exporting to the U.S. So, should we punish these companies who do so for survival. Even if the government of the U.S. knew all of these marriages of convenience and had the competence to sort this all out, there is always the trading companies that can obscure the manufacturing origin.
The cold hard reality is that manufacturing in the U.S. survives because we are either more productive and labor is less that 8% of the manufacturing cost, our quality is superior and customers are prepared to pay more for it, or market proximity and logistics make it more attractive and the customer is prepared to pay more for it as well.
The number of U.S. companies is further diminished as consolidations take place, and as the dollar weakens, these companies become attractive bargains for foreign investors. Just look at the automotive industry. The big three are Toyota, GM, and Ford, and not too far down the road Nissan will occupy the number three position. The same goes for the parts suppliers that are fewer and fewer each year as U.S. companies fold and are replaced by offshore concerns.
Tariff’s? What a joke.

Nancy Pelosi needs to be sent home!!! She has been bought off by big oil. Anyone who does not want to drill for oil here at home so we can stop being dependant on others is anti american. The big oil people want to keep us the way we are because of greed. We need to elect all new people and send the old goats home. Everyone from the White House down need to be in the same social security, the same insureance, the same everything. Bombbard our officals with calls to vote against the stimuls and to vote for drilling in Alaska and Wyoming area where there is a vast amount of oil that could take care of us for the next 200 yrs.

Slater, sometimes a little nastalgia slips into a persons life, particularly as they get older. And I’ve become aware that what might be nastalgic for one person, may not be for another even if two people are from the same era, or even the same family. We all seem to see things through our own prisms….
Merle Haggard and John Denver gave us a lot of
“good ole” songs here are one from each of them. Do they strike you as they do me? (MH) Are the good times really over for good, and (JD) Thank God I’m a country Boy.
In my nostalgic world these songs should be numbers one and two on the current charts, and should be there for, oh 20 weeks or so. But then again I do like those old 4 door sedans where you can sit comfortably in the back seat, and they weigh about 2000 lbs. and run on .20 cent a gallon gasoline. And thanks to the Transistor radios we now have the current computer chip. Ah yeah, the good ole days when you could burn your pile of raked leaves at the curb, literally walk to school, and leave your doors unlocked. Does anyone out there remember when living was fun and enjoyable or is it that MY life was so different than everyone else’s?
Are the good times really over for good?!!

Dear Mike,
What a pleasure to see you on Fox News! I am Colleen and Holly Wayne’s mom. You swam with them at the Auburn YMCA. Colleen lives in Nashville now and Holly is in Ohio finishing college.
It is a breath of fresh air to hear you speak so truthfully about the stimulus package and how TN would be better without it. Colleen is a Special Ed teacher and the schools are not hiring and are cutting back. As you say who will pay for the teachers the stimulus will hire when the 2 year period is up? The federal government does not think of these things. No responsible parent would dream of telling their child to borrow and live in a state of debt. However, our government is not being responsible with our money or our future! Mike, keep speaking up for all of us who want a positive future for our children.
Gratefully,
Deb Wayne

Mike, I just wanted to get this out. Yesterday, why didnt the the woman that ask the president about credit cards just ask, Its ok for credit card companys to charge outraguos interest on them and fees, but when Vinnie and Gweedo loan money it is called Loan Sharking!or rackateering. And one more thing, why dont the president just say it and move on with the car industry. We cant be lean manufacturing as long as the UAW or any kind of union is involved. ill tell you why, big money!Move them south and these people here in west Tennessee will do a great job. Most of the industries here in Jackson practice lean manufacturing .(The Toyota Way)

wow you have 61 listeners. nice, slater. ayn rand would be proud. even though she if laying in the ground rotting.

lame lame lame. rand is dead and good riddance. she was a bore.

April 10, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Wow Joey! You’re almost not even worth responding to! You can’t help humanity if you as an individual do not first help yourself. Because of the great successes I have achieved, I can now help others, if I so choose. If you really think it is a group effort, I urge you to visit Nicaragua, where the government has done a truly incredible job at helping humanity there….or maybe not. They have done everything they can to squash the individual’s effort at success and the entire country suffers as a result. The people live in squalor, far worse than the poorest of the poor in America have to live with.
Because of the individual, America has become the greatest country in the world and has been able to help millions of people, like the Nicaraguans fight to overcome poverty. Because of the individual, Americans are going down there and building new schools, medical clinics and homes with electricity and running water. But that’s only because we, as individuals have worked hard and made lots of money, thanks entirely to our great capitalistic nation. It starts with the individual.
If you hate the individual so much, maybe you should move elsewhere, and by the way, you don’t help your cause by being a rude jack a–!

So put down your pen,
A whole new generation,
Who pointlessly defend,
Ayn Rand is dead,
And I can not pretend,

An individual’s individual,
So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
An individual’s individual,
So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
You’ve turned cynical
Ayn Rand is dead,
But she walks again,
‘Til every river dies polluted,
She is the undead,
Ayn Rand is dead,
But she wants revenge,
History will march and die,
Just like her in the end
An individual’s individual,
So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
An individual’s individual,
So scared that you’ve turned cynical,
You’ve turned cynical
Ayn Rand is dead,
Ayn Rand is dead,
Ayn Rand is dead,

isn’t it weird that united we stand and divided we fall? so the individual is easily toppled yet the group is strong?
and why do you people continue to protect the bosses when they are the ones who deny you living wages??
i mean it’s great for a boss to make 10 grand a week but you as a worker are selfish when you want a little more than 300 bucks a week.
wake up. slater is an advertiser, supporting the bosses and you are a worker. he wants you to hate your fellow worker and to buy buy buy…… so he can get a bigger check as a shill man.
he could say anything as long as it sells advertising spots. get a clue, you will not get a political education from talk radio.
and ask him about pringles park backing out of the teabagging rally. slater says they didn’t expect so many people…but then he exects 500 folks. pringles park can handle 2000 people but they don’t wan to be involved with uneducated reactionary garbage……press him on that one. i dare you.

April 16, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Dear JoeyCadre, You seem like such a sad person.
Here are a few things you can do to feel better about yourself and this great country:
1. Thank the Good Lord that you were born in this country.
2. Thank the Lord that you were born in the South.
3. Thank the Lord for your freedoms.
4. Thank the Lord for your material blessings such as: plenty of food, plenty of clothes, a roof over your head, a vehicle and so many other things that God has given you.
5. Come to the Tea Party and see thousands of people celebrate their freedoms.
6. Plan to give $100.00 to the Freedom Alliance Fund to help kids that have lossed a loved one while they were protecting your freedoms.
Joey, if you follow these suggestions, you will have a greater appreciation for the blessings you have. Thank God in prayer for all that He has given you. Hope you meet you at the Tea Party.
April 17, 2009 at 12:26 am
hahaaha. to start off, it’s you’re not your mia crank, get a grip on the english language.
the “lord” if there is one (and if there is i doubt he would be very happy with all the money and garbage done in his name) had nothing to do with me being born in america or the south. if he had then according to your analysis then the billions of people who were not born in the bible belt are destine for hell, or at least a very rough life due to his decision. not very god like, right?
i celebrate my freedom every day, and i am much more at ease with my government since mister obama took over from the very near fascist government of dick chenney and gw bush. i find it amazing that you people are so terrified of obama when bush and his cronies were the ones who wanted unwarranted wire taps and the ability to keep people incarcerated without any due process of law.
and if you knew the truth you would know that obama wants to tax the rich at a rate 10% less than ronald reagan. taxes haven’t risen in over 16 years for any bracket and the tax rates you are protesting are those of george w bush.
why not do a little research and not just jump like a reactionary to someone like mike slater (i doubt that’s his real name anyway, lots of professional entertainers change their names to more snazzy ones) and use your own brains to look into the government.
the main problem with the american congress is lobbyist. it corporate america’s intrusion into the making of laws. if you want to be mad, then be mad at unbridled capitalism.
if you hate socialism so much, then take your grandmother’s (or mother’s or your own) medicare card and burn it. i doubt you’d want to get rid of that right?
get a freaking clue.

SLAVERY: IT’S WRONG AIN’T IT???
We are all SLAVES: To our Families, Communities, Careers, Possesions, ect….. We are SLAVES to these things by choice. For reasons each INDIVIDUAL has decided is worthwhile. The INDIVIDUAL choses this SLAVERY willingly; from LOVE, not FEAR or COMPULSION.
American’s have had their LIBERTIES usurped in the past. They have all-most all-ways been taken in the pursuit of worth-while long-term GOALS. Goals which Increased Individual: Idiological, Religious , Social, Politcal, and Economic, Freedoms and Liberities. Well, Hopefully, at least for somebody… somewhere.
I find it ironic, considering the historical nature of this administration, that we are being sold into SLAVERY with-out the promise of the pursuit of worth-while long-term GOALS. Sold into SLAVERY for no better reason than;”I won !” Yes MR. President you won. But, YOU did not win by an over-whelming majority!!!
My Grand children born with 40k debt???
My Great grand childrens debt???
Butter fly paths in Fl. ???
Drought in mid west that wiped out the Anasawi Indians reacuring.???
Bank rupting the Nation so we can’t takle the real future problems we are yet to face ???

Who needs to get a clue???

i love america, i love the legacy of the struggle to insure that all people are equal. i despise the fact that you people are so wound up after a president started an illegal war in iraq and ran up debt (to haliburton that had ties to more than one person in said president’s administration) and now you want to pretend to protest against the standing president (who i did not vote for but i accept as the commander in chief) when the guy you people held up as a saint is the one to blame for the disaster of unbridled capitalism.
hey, i heard it for the last 8 years and now i say it to you, if you don’t like it then you can move. love it or leave it. right? maybe you can find an ultra right wing nationalist country where you can complain about immigrants and the lack of homeland security….kinda like nazi germany. i mean, hitler had the german’s in an uproar about the immigrants (with voter approval), he had them in an uproar about the socialists (with voter approval), he even had the country screaming for the heads of the homosexuals (and with voter approval he had them “deported” which was really put in camps to be killed).
you people should watch out for getting what you wish for.
america is wonderful. but i am sad at how the dream has been pissed down the drain due to isolationism and cynicism. due to hating what you don’t know and wanting everything to be lily white and just like you.
April 18, 2009 at 10:51 pm
awww i like how it’s not a post from slater. it from the slater show. nice move. so you can deny posting it.
the fact is slater, you’re nothing more than a salesman for green frog and whoever else buys adverts on you show. you can cater to the lowest common denominator all day long, and still get a paycheck. doesn’t make you right, it just makes you a a salesman.

hmmmmm, seeing as slater won’t come out and answer my posts i believe that i was right in saying he coined his name for show biz. that was the eaisest one for him to deny and he passed.
i guess he’s just going to praise the consumers and coffee buyers for green frog.
and tell everyone that america is the greatest country on earth. even those he says it to (and him i suspect) have never been out of the usa a day of their lives.
pathetic slater raiders. and come on, what the hell, give them a group to join to boost their egos. the simplest and most base scam to get people to follow you.

JoeyCadre, in our wonderful free enterprise system, radio stations sell advertising to pay for the operation the stations. The advertisers benefit by the listeners of the station buying their products. Mike can promote his advertisers as much as he pleases. You do not have to listen to the station or support the advertisers.
NPR is supported by the Government. My money supports NPR whether I listen or not. I did not have a choice.
If WTJS does not make a profit, they go off the air. If NPR does not make a profit, they go to the government asking for more of my money.
I love the free enterprise system.

Slavery is eqaul to: Debt, Taxes, Laws, Fees, Nany State Regulations…ect…
I refuse to be a SLAVE to senseless short sighted spending. Sense-less short sighted spending that does not have a single worthwhile well crafted, principled, long term goal any where with in it. Slavery to debt with-out the promise of increasing any kind of Individual, Liberty, Freedom, Values, or Property Rights.
Taxation with out representation….
A 1200 pg. Stimulus Bill in witch we had 12hrs to examine before it was passed. No time for the or our Representatives to examine and suggest/make improvments.
Taxation with out representation in DEED and in FACT.
An example of the worst abuse of Unipolar power at the expense of an entire system of “CHECKS AND BALANCES” in American history. An OBSCENE abuse of public trust.
Proof of the need to instate TERM LIMITS on all of those who hold a Policy/Law Making Position. Proof that the attack on our Civil Liberties of the past years can be shown to come from a specific Group Of Politicians. The Progressive Caucus.
Haven’t you ever wondered why there seems to be so little difference between the Policies of either the Republican or Democratic Politicians.???
The TRUE reasons for the TEA PARTIES.
1) A call to HUMILITY and COMPROMISE from this administration.
2) A call to make Policy based on SOLID TIME PROVEN PRINCIPLES.
3) A call to craft Policies witch offer the hope of encreasing Every kind of Individual, Liberty, Freedoms, Values, and Property Rights.
4) A call to stop this sense-less short sighted spending.
5) A call to stop crafting Policies witch do nothing but make more Nanny State Laws.
6) A call for a return of Economic, Common, and Farm sense in Government.
7) A call to craft Policies witch truly balance the needs to answer a “Compassionate Thougt-full Heart(that Socialism represents) vs The Call Of The Wild”(that Natural Law represents) so we can create TRUE “Hope and Change” we can all belive in.!!!

actually slavery is selling your labor to a boss (capitalist) for a fee that is less than a living wage.
you are the government, we all are, that’s what a republic is. you elected the officials and they repressent you. look at the constitution. 1:8. now if you don’t like that then find a new country to live in and be a slave to religion or a monarch.
April 26, 2009 at 12:28 am
SLAVE TO A CAPITALIST
You are never really a SLAVE to a capitalist you can all ways change your job. Unless, like you Joey(most likely), you have made every boss you ever had mad enough to “spread the word”, and nobody wants to have you around. You are a SLAVE to things that you have no choice about.
If you are the same Joey that stated that CRIST was a SOCIALIST….I will tell you the different between the Socialism of CRIST and the Socialism of Government; is that of CHOICE. With CRIST I have a CHOICE not to be a Socialist. With Government I have NO CHOICE.
With CRIST in the END I will JUDGED not by what I HAVE but, by what I GAVE!!!!!

Joey,
I have had people who have worked for me. I “Know” what it takes to run a bussiness. Clearly you do not.!!!
Your HOME WORK is to discover exactly what is required to run a bussiness. The insurance, bonds, licencing, laws, fees, …ect… Examine this issue completly please. Clearly Frame, Express, and Define every thing involved in running a small bussiness.
I’m sure you allready know what expences an Individual has, so this part ought to be easy.
Then Clearly Express, Frame, and Define what you mean by Living Wage In this context. PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE WE ALL SHARE HAVEvsNEEDSvsWANTS WHEN FRAMING YOUR ANALISIS…. Maybe while you are doing your research you will learn something of VALUE…..
I have given You Far to much for FREE.. YOU OWE US FOR OUR WISDOM!!!!!
CALLENGE ISSUED APR 17

hahahahahahha. you know jesus? please tell him to give me a call and let me know how his message got so f***** up and twisted into one that denies workers a living wage and the respect and gratitude that they deserve.
so all the governmental requirements are too much for you? to pay for osha? to pay for things that protect workers and keep them safe from exploitation? that is your burden? i mean these folks are making you money but you complain about having them have a say in what they sell you (their labor) in order for you to make money off of that labor? wow! jesus would be proud of you fella.
the right to make money comes with the responsibilty to give back to society to make working conditions safe for the workers and the consumers.
now you do some homework and figure out human rights. jackoff.
April 30, 2009 at 2:06 am
Hahahahahaha You are soooooo Lazzzzzy…
All these questions you have, you can answer for yourself.
It is clear you do not even understand your own RHETORIC. You are such an excellent example of a PROEL.(hint ROMAN)
Caught up in words and phrases you TRULY do/can not understand/define/frame/express. A PARROT for the thoughts of others.
If YOU are an example of the WORLD YOU WANT it will never happen. No wonder you are bitter.
OSHA is not a burden. It is a NEED. Just like insurance. A small buissiness needs insurance in order to protect its self from workers. Workers who do a bad job because they are mad about something. Their bad job is then responsiable for getting someone hurt. The OWNER gets sued because they are UN-PRINCIPLED. The worker gets off easy. Maybe the worker gets fired. The owner gets to pay no matter what.
Remind you of yourself maybe?
You completly failed to idetify the needs of the individual.Food, clothing, housing. Mandatory car insurance. Seat belt laws. Ever increasing TAXES.ECT…ECT…. HAVE / NEED / WANT…..??????
What percentage of small buissiness owners make more than their employees? Of the bosses who make more how much more do they make?
I read some of the works of the authors you listed. The one on ROME wasn’t too bad, biased but not too bad. He glossed over how ROMAN LAWS were becoming ever more restrictive and lead to the dis-enfranchisement of the ROMAN people. They no longer cared what happened to thier country. Some REVOLTED, some LEFT, some did nothing. Kinda like whats going on now? Ahhhhhh….. Bell Hooks what an eye opener. I finally understand how RUSH LIMBA coined the term FEMA-NAZI…All threee biased…. I will say they gave me a better understanding of a certain point of view.
Here are three of mine: Piers Anthony(The Human History set, it will show you a larger view point) L.E. Modesit Jr.(any thing he writes will discribe Balance) Last and MOST IMPORTANT (at least if you truly wish to get your message across) HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE by DALE CARNEGIE
Each one of these works has a different point of view, unlike yours.
Untill you learn some important lessons about CHOICE, RESPECT, and GRATITUDE…..(hint you earn them) THE GOLDEN RULE……
You are not worth any more of MY time. Hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa. Such a Lazzzzy little Girl….Hahahahahahahaha………..IF YOU ONLY KNEW…………Hahahaha

HI joeycadre
WILL YOU BURY THE HATCHET???
I have been forced do to personal reasons to seek answers to questions the same as yours.
How did God’s message get all messed up?(Here is a clue)
Look at Genesis 1:27 “Be fruitful;and multiply; fill the earth and SUBDUE it; have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves onthe earth.”
Now consider the words SUBDUE and DOMINION. How many other times are these words used in the BIBLE? Were the exact same words(from the original text) translated here in GENEIS as SUBDUE AND DOMINION translated differently elese where in the BIBLE? What is the alternate translation?
If you will answer the last question I will share with you what I know about your other questions. At least try to find the answer. If you can’t find the answer, I’ll tell you, if you are honest and respectful.
THIS IS AN HONEST PEACE OFFERING. Please consider it carefully. Thank you for your forgiveness and understanding.

Hey! joeycadre
I’ve been to a lot of places and countries.
Are YOU tired of living in this Capitalist world??
Let me tell you where you can go, seeing how you are so willing to tell others, here in America to Live that socialist communal dream. Where you have community housing, clothing, food, car…ect…
Now I’ll warn you that it is financed by a Capitalist Enterprise. You’ve got to give your possesions up to the commune, in order to buy in. Everybody’s got to do their share of the “WORK”.
They live a bit like the Amish. They sell organic food and make all kinds of butter, peanut, pecan, cashew, ect…
However, the people are pleasent, kind and nice, at least the times I was there to visit, work, and buy things. I truly en-joyed my visits there. I have not been there in quite a while. I bet its still there. It was by no UTOPIA by any standard.
It is called the EAST WIND commune, located in Tecumseh, Missouri, zip 65760

actually the reactionary crap tagline that slater (if that’s his real name) likes to blab, means nothing. american isn’t the greatest country on earth, there is no greatest country really. if you have traveled then you know that every country has it’s own positives and negative to contribute to society. to be completely xenophobic and typical (typical west tennessee and forgetting a world view) then you can say america is the greatest country on earth…..it’s like saying that southern baptist are the only people who have the right idea about god…….it’s all subjective.

HEY joeycadre
I find the loss of INNOCENT LIVES, irrespective of that life’s Religion, Race, Creed, ect…, is A GREAT SORROW TO MY HEART. The unintentional loss of INNOCENT LIVES is no less a SORROW TO MY HEART because of WAR. However, I do FULLY understand, from both direct and vicarious experience, that this type of loss is UNAVOIDABLE. Talk to some VETRANS, COPS, MILITARY, and watch some of the right kind of movies and TV shows, and I hope you can learn to understand how these unfortunate SORROW-FULL events un-fold/happen.
When a person is faced with the question of PERSONAL SURVIVAL it is best to remember this simple common sense rule:
IT IS BETTER TO BE TRIED BY TWELVE THAN CARRIED BY SIX.!!!
I wish that no one ever had to face such a choice.

1. Learn what Marxism is?
2. How many Russians were killed as Vladimir Lenin instituted Marxism? (hint; the answer is between 14 million and 16 million.)

Joeycadre,
It seems more than obvious that you disagree with just about everything that the typical Slater Raider hold dear. So, my questions are as follows: “Why are you here? Why do you WASTE your time and ours by posting your rants on here?”
I think the Mike Slater Show and the Slater Raiders appreciate honest debate but come on. You have, through many posts, pointed out that you disagree with us on almost every issue. But really I can’t tell what you really do support. Well with the exception of unions. LOL
If you bothered to listen to any of the broadcasts you would see that we are far from being blind supporters of the Republican Party. We are furious with them as well. Maybe even more so than the Democrats. Is it so bad that we feel that the country has lost its way and the Federal Government has grown too big and too powerful. Our founding fathers did not intend this to happen. But they also did not intend the population to become so complacent that we allowed it to happen.
This Tea Party is like a wakeup call to the remainder of the population to let them know that they are not alone. And a wakeup call to Washington to show them that we are tired and we are serious. Washington has a choice…..listen to us now or feel our wrath in the future.
thanks,
Stan

4 oz. Espresso coffee
then top off with steamed (or heated) Half & Half, stir it ever so gently, enjoy!

Wow. What a flurry of posts by the coward Joey Cadre.
Let’s see here, hate spewed in the Slaterraider forum last night at 11:02PM, then again at 11:10PM, once more at 11:19PM in the Tea Party forum, then 12:13AM in “Earth Day is Sad”.
Hmm. Must have been keyed up after watching his idol Rachel Maddow on PMSNBC.
As for the hour-long break between posts, maybe it was the result of multiple refresher bong hits and something good on Adult Swim? Who knows, who cares?
Joey, you have been called out to engage in respectful, intellectual debate with me, and yet you run and hide and pop out only to post frantic multiple hate rants.
I am now convinced that you lack the intellectual ability to engage in such a debate, as your actions have proven so.
You are nothing more than a FLAMER.
Bob Dylan once sang “Don’t criticize what you can’t understand”
Perhaps you should take that to heart, Joey.
April 30, 2009 at 11:44 pm
well, let’s see. no bong hits here, i don’t smoke pot. so you are wrong there.
rachel madow is ok but nothing special, so wrong again.
coward? nah, you don’t know me at all, seeing as i have marched for things like the ciw and have work for things like food not bombs and books not jails….and i have actually stood up against racism and nationalism (direct action that included violent confrontation) then no, not a coward. unlike your idols chenney and bush who would authorize torture when they haven’t ever even been in a fist fight and felt the pain of violence.
and i will criticize you until the day i die because you are wrong. plain and simple. you want this america to be a land of haves and have nots and a land where patriotism means clapping for the bombers and tanks. when the real america is a peace loving, respectful place of opportunity and equality.
so you can stick that in YOUR bong and smoke it.
if i get out of hand it’s just in the spirit of the debate. if you can’t handle some sarcasm and cussing then you should trot off to the fantasy land of the southern baptist where people don’t swear and everyone is bland and boring.
i have posted very relevant and real counterpoints to the slater groupies, and i have posted quips and satire as well. get a grip and grow up…..this world isn’t all sir and ma’am. it’s bs and fu.

FREE THE PINE TREES FROM EARTH’S OPPRESSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pine tree in my back yard is shorter than the one next door. This isn’t right!!!!!
Somewhere, somebody or some thing is “against” my poor little pine tree as they have kept it from getting as big as the tree next door!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My poor pine tree is obviously then a “victim”! It didn’t ask to be shorter. Somebody must have done something to “keep it down”!! Oh, how INADEQUATE my pine tree must FEEL having to look at the larger tree every day!!!
I know, it’s that pesky Earth and her “oppression” which is responsible for this!!
Earth is keeping my pine tree from being as tall as the one next door. I mean, they are both pine trees! Shouldn’t they be equal?
Why then do they not have the exact same height, produce the exact same amount of pine cones, needles, or sap?? Why don’t they have the same exact bark pattern??
The answer is obvious- My pine tree has been OPPRESSED!!! It has a “RIGHT” to be as tall as the tree next door. It has a “RIGHT” to have the same amount of needles, pine cones and sap as the other tree.
It is in fact the Earth who is oppressing the “RIGHTS” of my poor little tree!!!
Anyone who disagrees with me is an ignorant racist, no matter what thier argument is!!
________________________________
Or could it be, that this “inequality” between the two trees is nothing more than genetic variation to ensure the survival of all pine trees?
Could it actually be that they were CREATED with different characteristics so that thier species may survive? Could it be??? Could it be that VARIATION (inequality) is built into nature as tantamount to species survival?
Nah. It’s that damn oppressive racist Earth and her hateful prejudice against my poor little pine tree.
SLATERRAIDERS UNITE!!! I call for all Slaterraiders to protest Earth’s oppression!
We must get in Earth’s face! Yelling, screaming, do whatever it takes “by any means necessary” to ensure that Earth treats all trees the same!
To ensure “equality”, we must work to ensure all trees are kept the exact same height with the same number of leaves, the same bark pattern, same number of pine cones made, and of course, we don’t want any pine trees living any longer than any other, so when one tree dies we must kill them all, to maintain “equality” of course. Earth be damned!
Right? I mean, it’s not “fair” one tree lives and another dies, right???? So when one dies we must kill them all in the interest of “fairness and equality”, right?

Hi Brain
I think we met at Sparky’s Pizza. I was the fellow with the Twisty Stick Cane and the Squeeze and Fish bottle. I enjoyed meeting and talking with you.
I, like you, have no respect for the manner or the faulty logic contained in JOEYCADRE’s posts. I do have respect for the PASSION shown with in them.
I have Great Respect for your Thoughts and Efforts. However, I find that although I agree with your logic about Natural Law, I find ONE element missing from your post; COMPASSION. The Slatterraders are Compassionate. We proved it by the amount we gave to different CAUSES at the TEA PARTY. We set a record or two didn’t we?!?! I believe that it is this MISSING ELEMENT of COMPASSION from our posts/positions that has joeycadre upset.
We need a DEBATE between: SOCIALISM vs ???????vs???????
I’ll stand for COMPASSIONATE CAPITALISM.(?is there a better name for this?)
Brain will you join me in COMPASSIONATE CAPITALISM or will you stand for NATURAL LAW?
Joeycadre will you stand for SOIALISM?

Mark,
Of course I remember meeting you sir. A very pleasurable encounter it was, indeed. As a fellow Slaterraider, and having spoken with one another and read each others postings about this site, I feel we have a true respect with one another, and essentially agree on darn near most things.
This, however, I feel perhaps is not a difference in Principle so much as it is Perspective.
Let us revisit your response to my taking apart of the village idiot Joey Cadre:
You wrote to me:
1.)”I, like you, have no respect for the manner or the faulty logic contained in JOEYCADRE’s posts. I do have respect for the PASSION shown with in them.”
2.)”I find ONE element missing from your post; COMPASSION.”
3.)”I’ll stand for COMPASSIONATE CAPITALISM.(?is there a better name for this?)
“Brain will you join me in COMPASSIONATE CAPITALISM or will you stand for NATURAL LAW?”
My answer is this:
Compassion is absent from my posts for several reasons. To understand why, please take a journey of thought with me.
First, let us visit the definition of Compassion. It is mid-late latin essentially translating to “sympathy for suffering”
Sympathy for suffering, i.e., COMPASSION is a FEELING, an EMOTION.
The definition of MERCY: (also mid-late Latin)- ” compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one’s power ; also : lenient or compassionate treatment ”
Note the key words of action- “shown” “forebearance” and “treatment”
COMPASSION in ACTION is to SHOW MERCY.
Essentially you are asking me to show Joey Cadre MERCY, not COMPASSION.
You state you respect Joey Cadre’s PASSION.
I ask you, is not the Devil himself not PASSIONATE about what he stands for?
I assure you Mark, it is very possible to FEEL COMPASSION for one’s enemy, yet show them no MERCY.
This is a war. It is a war between the Truth of reality versus a very, very dangerous and seductive idealogy.
I shall give the enemy no quarter, Sir. No quarter at all. My black flag flies proudly.
May 28, 2009 at 1:09 pm
Brian,
Sorry for the lateness of my reply but, I fell and suffered a compound fracture of my right Tibia on May 1st. I’ll be all right however, the pain, crutches, and external fixator limit me, and slow me down a bit.
Everyones’ Prayers and Good Thoughts would be welcome an appreciated. Please include my sister in them because, she wreaked her car on her way home from visiting with me, and suffered several severe injuries. She broke her neck, both hands / arms, and both legs. She will be all right but, she has a long road of recovery and rehabilitation ahead.
Thank you for reminding me of your BLACK FLAG POST. I enjoyed that POST very much. Thank you for, explaining and sharing, your thoughts and feelings, about your position so clearly. Thank you for the Empathy, Respect, and Honesty you have shown in your reply to my POST.
COMPASSIONATE CAPITALIST???MORAL CAPITALIST???
I have been looking, like many others I suspect, for a term, or terms, that best labels my PASSIONS and PRINCIPLES. The best term I have at the moment is I am a MORALY PROGRESSIVE CONSTRUCTIONALIST.
I believe that the best of the Integrity, Passions and Principles shown to us by our forefathers should continue to echo, to be improved apon, and reflected in our actions and deeds today. After all they were the MOST SUCCESSFULL MORAL PROGRESSIVES IN HISTORY. Though they allowed slavery, and many other unfortunate things to come about in the CONSTITUTION, they also provided for their redress. It is SAD that it took so much Sacrifice, by so many, for so long, to bring about those most necessary fundamental changes.
I believe that the CONSTITUTION should be respected. That we should PROGRESS in the CONSTRUCTION of a system of governing that reflects the best of the MORALS, PASSIONS and PRINCIPLES shown to us by our nations’ FOUNDERS. That we should do our best to PROGRESS in a system of governing that addresses the needs of a COMPASSIONATE HEART vs THE CALL OF THE WILD. We should do our best to create and maintain a system that does its’ best to; INCREASE EVERY KIND OF LIBERTY, FREEDOM, VALUES, and PROPERTY RIGHTS.
I will PROUDLY debate my position of MORALY PROGRESSIVE CONSTRUCTIONALIST. I would be happy to do this because, I “KNOW” that with out Honest, Respectful, Questioning Debate we can never find the Principles, the Terms, that best answer the needs of a COMPASSIONATE HEART vs THE CALL OF THE WILD.
Thanks to Everyone for your Time, Attention, Thoughts and Efforts

Hi joeycadre
This is an example of the crisis of Passion.
You are wasting your time on this.
Mike is doing more good for the SERVICES with his raido show, than by joining up.
Leave Mike alone and adress a real issue please.
Thanks to everyone for your time, attention, thoughts and efforts…Mark for “Farm Logic”

hahahahahahaha. slater is doing so many good works with his west tennessee radio show that he need not join up and put his money where his mouth is? really?
so all those west tennessee boys who joined up didn’t have the mouth;s to work it right? they needed to die to make some sort of contribution to the american dream? yet, slater can talk good enough that he shouldn’t risk his life in the line of fire?wow! you are pathetic and a sheep following the chicken hawks who wave the american flag and love to say how those who actually put it all on the line did so for all of those who were scared to do so…..
pathetic.
and typical mike slater listener crap.
you people are idiots.

May 14, 2009 at 1:32 am
mike, you should totally give me 20% of your big tj network salary, i have made your forum interesting….but be assured if you gave me the dough i would pump it into the left wing machine to continue the massive social change that obama has started….
but really, what else could a yale graduate who came to west tennessee to have a radio show want? i mean you went to the obvious part of the country to start a right wing show, right? why didn’t you stay up in the north east and start a rand based radio show? because those folks know the hort comings of cynical capitalism…..right slater? so you came to the south where xenophobia and nationalism rule…..good career move kid. good good. i bet your parents are proud…..but do you still get your trust fund at 25? i wonder.
May 14, 2009 at 3:35 am

May I SUGGEST to those of you who enjoy the witty, intelligent, insightful posts and comments of the host of the show and it’s listeners give the angry trolls like this joecadre exactly what he/she deserves? Not one more minute of your time. I admit I fell into the trap of commenting on the asinine things he/she has posted and I apologize. Commenting, obviously – just feeds the monster. (This is MY last one!)
So I pledge to no longer read (or comment on) any posts made by the aforementioned angry troll. We have a great show, host and website here – let’s not dumb it down by giving any more attention to the angry trolls. This is just a suggestion.
May 14, 2009 at 10:06 am
How do you know joeycadre is a woman?
May 14, 2009 at 10:46 am
He’s not. Check out the unibrow on this freak on his FB page.
Wow.
I assure you, this cannot all be poor Joey Cadre’s fault, Hannah, for if I had a unibrow like that I too would no doubt lead a lonely life wandering from internet board to internet board spewing incomprehensible diatribes against all that makes America great.
One would think that a person who surrounds themselves at protests with so many gay men that at least one of them would have put him on Fashion Notice by now hehehe
May 20, 2009 at 12:42 am
wow! the slaterdouche’s have got me pegged. i’m a woman…..nice. women are so much lesser than men, right? at least that’s what the southern baptist convention says….
yay! mike slater is the champion of sexism…nice.
and i have a unibrow?!!!! i could only hope so. since i despise all cosmetic surgery and silly manipulation of the human for in order to make people more pleasant….that just shows how people are ashamed of how god made them……right? against god? that means you aren’t a good baptist.. which means you might be a muslim and be an anti partiot…
idiot redneck losers…..
hey slater, that’s what you get for graduating from yale and coming to a silly little southern town like this……
i still don’t understand why you, as a noreastern elite would come to this shitball little town to be a radio personality, unless it’s a national conspiracy to get as many rush limbaugh clones as possible to get as many limp minded idiots to get to the polls……..
freakin pathietic.
come on mikie…lets go out for a drink and talk man to man…. this is a challenge. one you will deny and avoid.
May 20, 2009 at 12:45 am
by the way….jesus was a liberal….jesus hung ou with the dregs of society. jesus said to sell al your goods and give the money to the poor. jesus said to love one another as you would love yourself…….
now.
would you deny jesus?
May 20, 2009 at 1:34 am
and no, i don’t have a unibrow….you can see, in the facebook photo… your slaterites are lam in their slater observation……..sad sad sad
May 20, 2009 at 9:59 am
To joey. Jesus wasn’t political. He was about saving souls. I know many conservatives that devote countless hours to the poor, volunteering at RIFA, working in the slums of South Africa, and in the barrios of Nicaragua. Just because you have a heart for the poor doesn’t mean you have to be a liberal, and just because Jesus said to help the poor doesn’t mean he was a liberal either. It has been shown in multiple studies that conservatives out give liberals year after year. Jesus said to help the poor. He never said to give all your money to the government and let them distribute it where ever they want.
Sorry someone said you have a unibrow. That wasn’t nice, but you kind of bring it on yourself by being so rude and disgusting. If Slater and all his Raiders make you so miserable, my advice to you is to STOP listening to the show and coming to his website. I wouldn’t want you to fall into any kind of severe depression over little ole Slater! This is your time, you should be happy! Your man, BO is in office and Princess Pelosi and the dems are large and in charge. So chill, don’t worry, be happy! And Jesus loves you!
May 30, 2009 at 11:39 pm
actually jesus was very political, if he wasn’t then he wouldn’t have been executed for being a rebel against the roman establishment.
i am rude, but i am real. i am honest and stand by what i say 100%. sorry if that brushes you the wrong way but it’s how i was brought up. sticking it to the man and to those who like to lie and twist things for the benefit of the machine. screw those people. and slater is one of them. he wants to somehow make the average working west tennessean believe that they have something in common with the fat cat corporate scum bags and republicans who are propped up by them…..you don’t have a thing in common with them. you are the workers and you are being lied to. they pull patriotism into the mix and religion. they have buzz words and issues to get you riled up but they are the enemy. they are the ones with loopholes and ways to not pay their fair share. they are the ones who are out to destroy 100 years of work by the workers to get us back to the 1890’s where unbridled capitalism had 12 year olds working in coal mines and now safety standards for the workers….they want money money money. that is all they want, well besides the power that would entitle them to the money.
anyway. i think i killed this message board and i am proud of that. so suck it slater!
May 31, 2009 at 12:13 pm
You haven’t killed anything, we all just ignore you.
May 21, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Slater,
Long time no hear.
He that Joeycadre guy got things pretty stirred up eh?
Well, I won’t respond to him. Some people are just impossible to reason with. With some, you cannot have an intellegent conversation, so why waste time?
I want you to know the Tea Party was swell. I believe we all made an impact and we can expect reactions to yet materialize because of these gatherings. Hey, even California is voicing their displeasure with taxation. Let us hope the rest of the Nation will get a clue.
The Tennessee legislature has had some success and a few failures, one of which is charter schools. Man, I truly want to see more private schools and certainly the charter schools which will lead us to privitization. Look, we have to understand that Centralization ( the Federal Government) is what will destroy this country. I can only hope our legislators will pursue constitiutional resolutions in place of legislation which is dictated by the fed’s. We might have to abide with national standards, but where we don’t have to, let’s get back to states rights. We are Tennessee, not one of the many states that make up the federal government. The Fed’s are supposed to enforce state’s rights, not usurp them.
New gun laws are also a blessing. Again, I hope they don’t stop there. By the constitution, we have the right to protect ourselves and our familys, and the feds do not have a right to restrict or limit those constitutional rights.

May 24, 2009 at 12:43 am
yeah man, we need more guns, we need guns in bars and in schools. we need guns everywhere. they will solve all of our problems.
we also need to privatize everything that can be [privatized. we need to have companies make money off of everything that they can make money on. because making money is the best thing ever. i mean screw it. let’s have private police forces that only protect those that pay. and lets have private fire departments than only save houses of those who pay. right? that’s capitalism. that’s america.
really what good is it to educate the poor kids? i meanif you educate them then maybe they won’t steal your stuff, but that might cost you some money…but those poor kids might be darker skinned than you are and that is just wrong, wrong to give them your hard earned white money, right?
and while we’re at it, being good americans like the founding fathers wanted us to be, then we should torture all the criminals in america, i mean that’s ok and all american, right? let’s waterboard all the drug dealers to get the info on the suppliers…..oh wait, only if the are muslim, i mean brown, i mean not american……
pathetic xenophobic jerks.
keep paying slater’s paycheck…..yay! america. it makes jesus cry.
June 9, 2009 at 11:41 pm
and why are the gun nuts so afraid to live in america? isn’t it the best country in the world? so why do they need their guns to go eat dinner at the ihop?
seems pathetic that the white christians are so afraid to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave……
maybe they should move to france where their are 100 times less gun crimes…
ooooh hit yah where it hurt.
June 10, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Yes, and the French population is at the mercy of their government.
I think I’ll role the dice with the law abiding citizens who have a carry permit at the IHOP!
June 13, 2009 at 11:50 pm
ummm the ihop doesn’t serve alcohol.
you people are so afraid of americans, it’s pathetic. why not stop complaining about taxes that fund public education, after school programs and the like so that americans aren’t turned into criminals. that way you won’t have to carry a gun.
i find it a very sad commentary on america when all the people complaining about taxes want to carry death machines in order to stay safe from the people who are let down by american society.
yay! guns are the solution to all our problems, right?
as for france, france had a murder rate the size of medina last year. america is number one, number one in gun murders each year. tells you something is terribly wrong with the american way, right?
but of course you have an ego the size of slater’s trust fund so you can’t see the reality of how guns make a society more dangerous than education does.
June 10, 2009 at 11:18 pm
There are 6.5 million Tennesseans and only 230 thousand have carry permits. The gun bill that allows citizens with carry permits to bring their firearm into a eating establishment / bar also bans 6.25 million Tennesseans from doing so. It is not like everyone can run down to the local pawn shop buy a gun and start waving it around Applebees.
To my knowledge the citizen who goes down to the police station gives all 10 finger prints, 2 palm prints, an FBI background check, carries a plastic ID card, does not pose a threat to your dinner plans.
June 13, 2009 at 11:56 pm
well any of those people who go through the process can freak out and shoot me or my kids or my loved ones. i prefer to eat in a place without guns.
after almost 40 years i have never had a gun pulle don me in an eatery. and i’d like to keep it that way. if you are so afraid to venture out into public to have a meal then i suggest you invest in a nice stove and fridge. just keep you idiot gun at home. just stay scared like slater and ayn rand would like you to. just make sure the boss is you best friend and you have a false idea that a gun keeps you safe from the government. it suits the likes of you and slater.
and hell, i’ve had guns pulled on me, but criminals and cops. if you kno whow to handle yourself you will be fine. just don’t be so afraid someone will take your stuff. and know you stuff is replaceable. and also know if an idiot shoot you then they are in the wrong and jesus will welcome you with open arms. sheesh.
just stop being so white and learn to live in the real world. and yes i said stop being so white. knowing that white folks are terrified of the real world. get out of your gated communities and get in the real world. live life. not fear.
for F***’S SAKE!! a gun just makes you a slave to fear. spend money on education, family planning and jobs. pay people a living wage (see slater this is where the suited corporate scum bags come in) and they won’t want to steal what you own and shoot you.
it’s reality and truth.

I would like to invite you to come out and support the 194th departing to Iraq Wed June the 24th Jackson airport.. Also thank you for all the things you have done for the Vets. You will never know how much it means to us for all the support you have given to my military brothers and sisters the last few months. I did come by the Tea party with my son a cupple months ago and hoped he would learn why it is so important to stand up for what you believe in and always try to do the right thing. I think it was a great place to start. Mike again I what to thank you I will try to keep you informed on our status in Iraq.

hey kids, wanna know what this ayn rand lady is all about? i can boil it down to one sentence…..
ayn rand wrote really boring books that say one thing “it’s great to be selfish and prey on your fellow man/woman”
there you have it. you don’t have to plow through the idiotically boring prose of a cynic. you can just read the sentence of a socialist jerk like myself.
and i love the bait from the local reservist. all i can say is that the american military would be better served by not being put into harms way by a lie of donald rumsfelds. i think every american soldier who has lost a limb, been mentally crippled or killed by the lies of rumsfeld and cheney should have their stories read to said jerks while they are chained to a ceiling just like the supposed terrorists that were chained to the ceilings of bagram and abu ghraib….
now slater raiders go out and rent “taxi to the dark side” and then try to rationalize the toruture that has been performed in your name by your tax dollars and your heroes.
you can’t do it.
November 4, 2009 at 4:20 pm
You are a tiny, tiny person who is starved for attention and looking for a fight. Why else would you bring such muck-raking and mind-bogglingly unintelligent comments to a website where you know you will be opposed? They are not even worth arguing with. There are plenty of people who share your useless views. Simply find them and you all can sit around just agreeing with each other all day. The people I referred to–yourself included–is the “dumbing down” of society. The irony is that you are a laughing stock because you are too arrogant to even see what a fool you are making of yourself. I understand that I am only pouring gasoline on the fire because people like you thrive on criticisms like this, but I am allowing my human nature to take over for a moment.
P.S. Seriously, read a book.

So is Slater ever going to run for public office? He considers himself a “Great American” but yet has never joined any armed force, nor has he fought for this country. Anybody can hand out canned goods and pack lunches for those that really do fight for our countey and our freedoms (not just talk about it but actually DO IT).
I read that Tanner spent 4 years active duty with the Navy, is a retired Col. in the National Guard, and not to mention a friend to the NRA and gun rights.
“Whaaaaaaat” you say???. How can such a liberal socialist be this way???? I don’t know. All I can tell you is Slater was on the swim team in Syracuse. Talk about a sacrfice. Way to go Mikey.
I say be a man and run for the 8th District Congressional seat. Just make sure you read your employee handbook before you announce to make sure the company you work for would’nt mind losing the investment they made by hiring you. Ooooooops, sorry Craig Steinfels.
August 5, 2009 at 7:48 am
To argue that John Tanner has “done more for West TN” than anyone else is nonsense!
If you call voting for bills which raise taxes, create more overbearing federal regulations, and helping take the country into socialism “good”, then you may be right.
John Tanner has violated his oath of office and like all the socialist in Congress feel as if they are no longer bound by the Constitution!
It’s time we voted him out!! In fact, we should start a petition and demand he resign!

This is a copy of a letter I just sent to Mr. Tanner…..for the record.
Mr. Tanner,
I can’t begin to describe how deeply concerned I and my family are about the events taking place in our country at the present. I as well as many of my friends have wrote you with our concerns. I urge you Mr. Tanner to distance yourself from the dangers that are upon this great country. You are our representative and leader. We will stand behind you if you stand for us. Let me repeat…..WE WILL STAND BEHIND YOU IF YOU STAND FOR US. This health care bill will destroy us. The past stimulus bills are proving to be a failure. Mr. Tanner do you honestly think the national health care will be run any better than the U.S. Postal Service? How about Social Security Mr. Tanner?
Where are you Mr. Tanner? I am disapointed that you will not face us here in West Tennessee. If you were the man you claimed to be you wouldn’t have to hid from us. Enough is enough Mr. Tanner!!!! We’ve had enough!!!
If you can’t find it in your heart to do the right thing Mr. Tanner….RESIGN!!!! The working class, tax payer as well as the “rich” cannot pay for this anymore. We’ve got enough on our backs.
Tell me Mr. Tanner……is government run healthcare what you will be depending on? You’d better search your heart man. You need to take the last opportunity you have to fight for the backbone of this country. There’s plenty of folks with their hand out wanting something because they think it is a right. DON’T TAKE ANYMORE OF MY MONEY AND GIVE IT TO THOSE WHO DON’T PULL THEIR OWN WEIGHT!!!!! “It’s not a right if the government can take it from you.”
In closing…..Mr. Tanner I’ve never been more serious in my life. We will take your job from you. You will become one of us. Do the right thing……GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE WAY OF OUR LIBERTY!!!!
Sincerely
Paul A. Lindsey
August 28, 2009 at 7:28 pm
Dear Paul, I approve of every word you wrote. If our representatives continue to REFUSE to represent us, we MUST DO OUR DUTY and remove them from office. John Tanner is ignoring us now, but will not be able to ignore us in 14 months.

The one question that is not being asked enough in the current debate over the Health Care Bill is does the Federal government have the Constitutional authority to do anything with health care? On at least three occasions the Supreme Court has said “no.”
First, in 1925 the case of Linder vs. United States 268 U.S. 5, 18, 45 S. Ct. 446, the Justices ruled that “Obviously, direct control of medical practice in the states is beyond the power the federal government.” Then in 1936 the United States vs. Anthony, 15 Supp. 553, 555, and again in 1978, United States vs. Evers, 453 F. Supp. 1141, 1150, the court said “…The direct control of medical practice has been left to the states.”
Of interest to this writer is the notion that the practice and control of medicine “has been left to the states.” This is in keeping with the 10th Amendment to the Constitution which reads “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Thus, if health care is to be found at all in the Constitution (and it’s not), it is to be covered under the 10th Amendment which leaves such matters up to the states.
Some people have attempted to use the General Welfare Clause in the Constitution as authority for managing health care. The United States Constitution contains two references to “the General Welfare”, one occurring in the Preamble and the other in the Taxing and Spending Clause. However, do these references authorize Congress to interfere with health care? Among the Founders of this nation who spoke to the general welfare clause was Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, both of whom maintained the General Welfare Clause is merely a synonym for the enumerated powers considered collectively, not an independent source of power. I assume they would know as both were there when these items were originally written, debated and ratified into law.
The real major issue here is authority and simply put, Congress has no authority to do what they are trying to do! Our representatives, both Republicans and Democrats, have gone so long doing what they please, passing laws to deal with whatever they please, that they and we, the people, have forgotten that we have a Constitution which places great restraints on the Federal Government. I say it’s time to put those restraints back in place! Stay out of our pockets, stay out of our homes and stay out of our medical concerns! Do what you have sworn an oath to do, uphold and defend the Constitution

I am not affiliated with WTJS, but I listen every weekday. I have built a forum/chat website for political discussion in West Tennessee. There are chat rooms, and separate sections for each county. The site is entirely free, and is my gift to all the people who are fighting on the front lines here in west Tennessee against the enemies of America.
