This morning we talked about Apollo 11. It’s no accident that of the thousands of years where people dreamed of the moon, that man reached that moon and flew back home in this short blip of history where liberty exists. And it was no accident that “USA” was painted in giant red letters on the side of Saturn V. Apollo 11 is the ultimate triumph of man, a demonstration of man’s highest potential. And it’s proof that capitalism is the system of greatness. Capitalism doesn’t equal money. It equals freedom. And freedom is what unchains the passion and abilities of man. Freedom is what allows kids to dream of space, grow up and achieve the impossible.
What are our kids dreaming about now? What is the next Apollo 11 they’re dreaming of? What country will we pass off to our kids so they can achieve it?
James sent me this E-mail right at the end of the show, “When the history books are written will placing man on the moon be the climax?”
It’s up to us if Apollo 11 is the climax of achievement or another step towards the infinite greatness that freedom allows man to achieve.
At 7:30 I compared the settlers, pioneers, and astronauts to Cannon, Andy and Mark from PoliticallyErectShirts.com in Martin:
Here is the full Ayn Rand piece I read on the air, “A Symbol Of Man’s Greatness”.
And the video of the year: Here is Buzz Aldrin punching a moon-landing-denier in the face.
