Chris Cox from the NRA supports Marsha. He called it a “no brainer.”
Larry Pratt from Gun Owners of America supports Tom. He says there’s a “clear difference”
From Team Leatherwood: “Arlington, TN (July 17) – Gun Owners of America, one of the nation’s leading advocates for the Second Amendment, has endorsed Tom Leatherwood in the race for the 7th District congressional nomination.
The group cited Leatherwood’s lengthy record of support for gun owners’ rights, and praised his commitment to protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of veterans.
GOA Executive Director Larry Pratt said Leatherwood’s opponent, incumbent Marsha Blackburn, “supported a bill that allows the government to ban certain veterans from purchasing firearms without judicial oversight. Leatherwood, on the other hand, will support the ‘Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act,’ a bill that protects veterans’ rights.”

Take a look at the GOA’s ratings. I never thought I would see the day when the liberal Steve Cohen is placed in the same category as Trent Lott, Sam Brownback and Zach Wamp for being Pro- Gun Owners rights. They all received a “B” ranking which GAO classifies as “Pro-Gun Compromiser: generally leans our way”. This group believes that the NRA is a bunch of sell outs. The endorsement should however, help Leatherwood in solidifying his base of Ron Paul supporters.

I took a look at the GOA’s website and they seem very extreme. If Rep. Blackburn does not receive the endorsement of a group who calls for the right of individual M1-A1 Abrams tank ownership, then so be it.

Marsha Blackburn supports the NRA and the NRA sold us out on the Brady Bill. The GOA is against the Brady Bill. The NRA supports Marsha, the GOA supports Tom. It is a no brainer.

Hey Mickey, post all you want, but stop posting this:
“Marsha Blackburn is my Congressman.
She is no conservative.
See her unconstitutional votes at my old blog:

See current info at:

I’m going to delete it every time.

Mickey is ill-informed. The NRA did not support the Brady bill.
Marsha Blackburn has cosponsored and voted for the following pro-gun federal legislation:
(1) Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (passed and enacted into law)
(2) Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act (passed and enacted into law)
(3) District of Columbia Personal Protection Act
(4) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) Modernization and Reform Act
(5) Signed the pro-gun amicus brief in the Heller case (successful in the U.S. Supreme Court)
Marsha Blackburn has earned the support of gun owners and sportsmen in Tennessee’s seventh congressional district, and that should be a “no brainer” for all voters in the Republican primary election on August 7.

Mickey is ill-informed. The NRA did not support the Brady bill and, in fact, actively opposed it.
Marsha Blackburn has cosponsored and voted for the following important pro-gun federal legislation:
(1) Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (passed and enacted into law)
(2) Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act (passed and enacted into law)
(3) District of Columbia Personal Protection Act
(4) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) Modernization and Reform Act
She also signed the pro-gun amicus brief in the Heller case which was helpful in this recent and successful U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn has earned the support of gun owners and sportsmen in Tennessee’s seventh congressional district, and that should be a “no brainer” for all voters in the Republican primary election on August 7.

Thank you Mr. Slater…will do… Let me ask a question. Is giving money to foreign nations (your tax money) conservative or not conservative?
